Since last week, Western and parts of Central Pennsylvania has been under a flash flood watch. Our area has been hit with a large amount of rainfall and will continue through tonight.
The areas with the highest impact from the heavy rain will be the low-lying areas prone to flooding. While driving, avoid ponding that may occur on the roadways. This could cause hydroplaning and the possibility of you becoming trapped in your vehicle.
It is very important to remember during flooding, to seek higher ground and stay away from floodwaters. Last evening a 30-year-old Indiana County man was killed while trying to clean debris from a storm drain. There was also an incident where floodwaters caused a train derailment.
